Recording session @ Phoenix Central ParkChippendale (Sydney) NSW – March 10, 2020:

Off-stage, in between rehearsals and concerts, there were plenty of unforgettable moments along the way. Some of the highlights were:

  • Swimming at Coogee Beach during our rehearsal break

  • A residency at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney including a composer workshop, performance masterclass, Q&A and flute studio teaching

  • A stop in Katoomba for lunch and a view of the Blue Mountains from Cliff View Lookout

  • Meeting the folks behind the Orange Chamber Music Festival who hosted our concert

  • A warm welcome from Swinging Bridge and Patina for an afternoon of wine tasting in Orange

  • Hunting down an emergency replacement bluetooth pedal en route from Orange to Sydney

  • Meeting a 94-year old Estonian who heroically attended our Ashgrove concert

  • Spectacular views of the glasshouse mountains from McCarthy's lookout in Maleny

  • Restorative coffee from Shotgun Espresso on Maple St, Maleny

  • Teaching two young harp students in Maleny who normally learn via Skype

  • Lunch to go from our favourite Toowoomba cafe, Sweet Talk

  • Meeting a local harp-flute duo after our Toowoomba concert

  • An epic end-of-tour celebration dinner in Brisbane at the Gunshop Cafe with friends, family and QLD Harp Society members

  • A quick pre-concert stop at Main Beach on the Gold Coast to breathe in some salty sea air

  • Being one of the first ensemles invited to record in the new-built Phoenix Central Park precinct
